Opportunities

Back to the spiritual then.

How do you have 'joy' in difficult circumstances?
Should you view pain and trials as good?
Are difficulties evidence that God doesn't care?

I assert that we only grow when we're forced into doing it.
Why would we want to, or see a need to, otherwise?

We don't like it, but we should.

What if you looked at every 'negative' in your life as an opportunity for growth and maturity?

"We often pray for God to remove the very things in our life that He wants to use for our good and His glory."
Wayne Jacobsen, He Loves Me

Make the most of your opportunities.

  1. I think that for me, the simple answer to the question "How do you have joy in difficult circumstances?" is this:

A)Remember that God is on His throne.
B)Realize that nothing happens without God allowing it to happen.
C)Hold firm to Romans 8:28, which says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

That's the short answer. God is in control, and He wants the best for us.

I'm reminded of the example of one Will Howlett, who, having just lost his job, called up his wife and said "Honey, we're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate! God is doing something...I don't know what it is, but I'm excited to be a part of it!"

    That is having joy.

  2. Yes. That is a joy that springs from a faith that believes there is an omnipotent God we can trust because He loves us. How well would we do to live like we fully believed that?
